Leading Yacht Brokers Association (LYBRA) and Water Revolution Foundation Join Forces to adopt the targets set out for yacht operations through the recently launched Roadmap 2050 – Towards Regenerative Yachting.

Monaco, 29 September 2025

The Leading Yacht Brokers Association (LYBRA) and Water Revolution Foundation (WRF) today announced a strategic collaboration to establish a new Environmental Committee under the umbrella of LYBRA. This committee, guided by the expertise of the Water Revolution Foundation team, will focus on adopting and implementing the ambitious targets set out in the Roadmap 2050 – Towards Regenerative Yachting, launched earlier this year.

This partnership brings together two leading forces in the superyacht industry, combining LYBRA’s reach and influence across the global brokerage and yacht management community with Water Revolution’s scientific, environmental-driven programme. The Environmental Committee will serve as a platform for LYBRA members to collaborate in driving the Roadmap’s coordinated direction for the entire yachting sector, aligning business practices and client advisory with measurable sustainability goals.

“By working together with Water Revolution Foundation, we are ensuring that our industry is not only aligned with the urgent need for climate action but also sharing the responsibility of shaping a more sustainable future,” said Charlie Birkett, President of LYBRA. “This committee will allow us to move from dialogue to coordinated action.”

The Environmental Committee will:

  • Translate the Roadmap 2050 goals into clear, practical steps for the yacht management sector.
  • Provide resources, tools, and training to LYBRA members to identify most effective sustainable solutions for the existing fleet.
  • Monitor progress through data collection, supporting measurable emission reduction and regenerative practices.
  • Foster collaboration and inspire leadership across the superyacht industry to accelerate systemic change.

“With the Roadmap 2050, the yachting sector now has a clear vision of where we must go to become truly regenerative,” said Aino Grapin – President of Water Revolution Foundation. “By creating this Environmental Committee with LYBRA, we ensure that yacht managers – who play a critical role in guiding clients’ choices – are fully equipped and empowered to accelerate to this transformation.”

Since its inception in 2018, Water Revolution Foundation has developed yacht specific methods and tools such as the Yacht Environmental Transparency Index (YETI) and the for-and-by crew Environmental Crew Guidelines, that are ready for adoption and implementation, for yachting to step up its environmental progress. The collaboration underscores a growing recognition across the yachting sector that sustainability is no longer optional – it is essential to the industry’s long-term relevance and future prosperity.
