The Lightweight Marble 10+5 is a composite panel system consisting of a 5mm natural marble facing bonded to a 10mm aluminium honeycomb core. The configuration draws on structural principles from aerospace engineering, resulting in a panel up to 70% lighter than a conventional solid marble slab. The system is applicable across marine interiors, architectural cladding, furniture, and custom installations, and is manufactured using precision bonding processes and high-performance structural adhesives. It is designed to maintain dimensional stability and structural integrity in environments subject to vibration, load variation, and temperature change.
Improved environmental impact
A Life Cycle Assessment was conducted by 2B, an LCA consultancy, with oversight from Water Revolution Foundation and independent peer review provided by TETS Institute, a University of Genoa spinoff. The assessment evaluated the environmental impact of the Lightweight Marble 10+5 against a conventional solid marble panel as the baseline comparator. The primary finding is a weight reduction of up to 70%, which reduces the material load carried onboard a vessel. Reduced onboard weight is associated with lower fuel consumption and, consequently, lower operational emissions over the vessel's lifetime. The LCA provides specifiers with independently verified data to inform material selection decisions.
