Water Revolution Foundation took part in the ShiPrint project’s event series, Strengthening Efforts and Synergies to Protect Cetaceans in the Northwestern Mediterranean PSSA, bringing together representatives from the yachting industry, scientific community, conservation organisations and public authorities.
Through an introductory webinar and an in-person event at the Genoa International Boat Show, discussions explored how the yachting and pleasure boating sectors can reduce their impact on cetaceans through responsible navigation, improved operational practices and greater use of ecological information.
Representing the Foundation, Vienna Eleuteri highlighted the importance of integrating whale-safe navigation into voyage planning and charter programmes, supported by clear communication across the wider yachting community. The exchanges reinforced the value of collaborative, voluntary and evidence-led action, identifying practical opportunities for the industry to contribute to cetacean protection while advancing broader improvements in yacht environmental performance.
